Senior Project Accountant
Oversee and coordinate ongoing project cost control to ensure that all financial aspects of project
execution are on track. Assess cost, profitability, and performance and produce project financial reports
for critical review.
Provide support to CFO and Project Compliance Manager.
A tertiary qualification in accounting is a minimum requirement. Certification as a CPA, CMA, CGA, or other designation from a professional accounting organization for Chartered Accountants, General Accountant, and Management Accountants recommended.
A project management qualification is highly recommended. At least 5 years’ experience in project account management related to billing of donor funded projects is required as well as a thorough knowledge of standard contract terms, including hourly, lumps sum, not-to-exceed and how they are applied in the billing process. Experience- and knowledge of CDC and other donor fund financial
management and compliance in a public health environment is an advantage.
Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, but advanced skills in Excel is a minimum requirement; Need to be familiar with ERP software; Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities. Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently, anticipate risks, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion. Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the Project Compliance Specialist in time; Strong service orientation.
Must be willing to be flexible i.t.o working hours and willing to travel. Drivers licence.
