HISP-SA designs digital tools and solutions that transform the way people engage in their health and the health system. We believe in building better lives and improving health and prosperity with our digital solutions. Most of our staff are techies, highly specialised professionals in various disciplines including public health systems. We are currently looking for staff on short-term contracts of six months, with the potential to extend beyond this period – to support our key projects. Our projects provide technical assistance and support to Health Information Systems, transitioning from standalone and fragmented information systems to integrated systems. We strive to achieve this through set deliverables that focus on establishing robust governance structures and providing technical assistance that strengthens our Digital Health ecosystems.

TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

The potential candidates are required to be highly experienced Technical Project Managers to assume responsibility, and carry full accountability for the management of a portfolio of complex IT projects.

The Technical Project Managers will be responsible for: –

    • Managing technical projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope of project
    • Developing, maintaining and revising proposals for projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding and staffing
    • Serving as liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects.
    • Aligning projects with client and partner needs and requirements.
    • Constructing detailed work plans, achieving milestones, and communicating results across a diverse stakeholder audience.
    • Complying with donor reporting requirements quarterly and annually
    • Setting and tracking project milestones; managing and accounting for unforeseen delays and realigning schedules and expectations as needed.
    • Communicating with partners/funders/clients to arrange meetings, confirm project schedules, and discuss any project problems.
    • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project management documentation.
    • Analysing risks and providing regular updates regarding projects status and any problems or potential problems. Taking proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery

The technical project managers require the following:-

    • Tertiary qualification in IT
    • At least 10 years project management experience, as well as evidence of managing multiple technical projects and projects implementation.
    • Previous working experience in government and knowledge of and experience in DHIS (District Health Information System)
    • Experience in data management
    • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent relationship management ability
    • Self-assured, confident and willing to take accountability
