Infrastructure Engineer
The Infrastructure Engineer is a hands-on technical operator responsible for assisting in the setup, configuration and maintenance of HISP’s hosting infrastructure and network environments. Operating under the guidance of the Infrastructure Lead, this role spans both application hosting and physical/virtual network management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in provisioning cloud instances, virtual machines and physical servers. Deploy and configure organizational applications onto the hosting infrastructure.
- Configure, install and maintain network appliances including routers, VPN gateways, firewalls and switches to ensure secure and optimized traffic routing.
- Monitor network latency, bandwidth usage and server health. Respond to alerts and perform routine troubleshooting for connectivity or application hosting issues.
- Implement network security policies, access control lists (ACLs) and firewall rules under the guidance of security and infrastructure leadership.
Job Requirements:
- Relevant degree, diploma or certification in Network Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science
- Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+) or basic
- Cloud/Linux administration certifications are highly advantageous
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Network Administration, Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering
- Proven experience configuring routers, gateways and managing IP subnets
- Experience assisting with application deployments on Linux server environments
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing protocols)
- Familiarity with Linux OS administration and command-line operations
- Exposure to monitoring tools and server provisioning
