HISP-SA engineering teams wish to recruit talented individuals to the software development and data engineering related roles listed below to become involved in several innovative projects.

Data Science Coordinator (1 position)

A Data Science Coordinator responsible for driving alignment of the Data Science team with organisational that meets the client’s needs
Key Responsibilities:
•Improve data-driven responsiveness to user needs with data science techniques in all HISP digital solutions
•Optimise the quality and value of users’ digital experiences by ensuring that data science team configurations contribute to the goal of upgrading all user interfaces
•Drive, lead and ensure project deliverables which the Data Science unit are responsible for are met within timeframe and manage risks related to unmet deliverables
•Drive and ensure the development, configuration and maintenance of complex data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business and for clients.
•Ensure the development and deployment of database systems for data collection and innovative big data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing.
•Manage the implementation of modern data preparation, integration and AI-enabled metadata management tools and techniques.
•Drive the development of various methodologies for data quality and data consumption.
•Provide technical oversight, guidance and coaching to data science teams, where relevant
•Establish pro-active quality assurance processes on data management and data science processes including providing direct oversight
•Attend project management meetings with special

Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Computer Science, Informatics or related field
•Honours degree will be an advantage
•Management qualification will be an advantage
•Project Management qualification will be an advantage
•At least 7 years’ experience in the field of technology and information management
•Experience working with Data Science technologies, such as predictive analytics, machine learning and neural networks will be an advantage
•Knowledge of DHIS2 reporting modules, data structure and the DHIS2 API
•High degree of computer literacy – confident in MS Office and Windows
